The “Walking Man Series” is based on a walk along the “Chemin de St. Jacques” trail from Le Puy en Valley to Figeac in the "Massif" of France completed in September and October, 2007.

The “Walking Man” image is a stylized shadow which I use as a stand-in for myself in the paintings. The “Walking Man” is similar to the idea of the “artist as flanneur” common in mid-19th century impressionism. The works incorporate prints, photographic image transfers, drawing, and acrylic painting. While basically representational, the images are often abstracted with ironic references and include occasional text. All works are 32 X 40 inches.
